Zdravljica – the National Anthem of Slovenia

Zdravljica became the official Slovenian national anthem when the country became independent in 1991. The text is from 19th century (by France Prešeren) while the music by Stanko Premrl was premiered later, in 1917.
We made the piano arrangement very orchestral – it carries with it a 3- or 4-voice polyphony. Despite this, it is quite easy to play. We have taken a lot of caution to keep it simple for a solo pianist.
