Come Again (J. Dowland)

Come Again gained renewed attention in 2006, when Deutsche Grammophon released an exceptional album featuring pop singer Sting and lutenist Edin Karamazov performing songs by Renaissance composer John Dowland (1563-1626).

The song was first published in the First Booke of Songs and Aires in 1597.

To make the score clearer for contemporary pianists to play, we have converted the stile antico alla breve notation to a 4/4 time signature. Even with this time signature, you can feel the pulse in either two or four beats per bar – whichever works for you. We believe this is one of the finest instrumental arrangements of the song available.
