Arabian Riff

Arabian Riff, presented here in our own piano arrangement, is a famous melody also known as The Streets of Cairo. It was published in various forms in the 19th century, but the original roots of the melody remain unknown.

The melody has been used as a basis for numerous other songs and works from jazz to classical music. Louis Armstrong used it, as did the American modernist composer Charles Ives in the Scherzo of his string quartet! Almost everyone knows this melody, though not necessarily its title.
