Caro mio ben

Caro mio ben is a extremely beautiful song that many have heard sung by such singers as Luciano Pavarotti and Cecilia Bartoli.

This song was probably composed by Tommaso Giordani (ca. 1730–1806), though it has sometime been ascribed to other members of the Giordani family.

The solo piano version respects the atmosphere of the original song, only without lyrics.

  • Polyphony and up to 4-voice writing, though not too difficult being a relatively slow piece
  • The arrangement has been made to respect the original harmonies and at the same time to keep it simple
  • The largest interval in chords is one octave

  • Knowing how to read and play polyphonic rhytms (for example different rhytms within the same hand)
